Civet Paste – Natural Raw Material

There are ingredients that are not meant to please.

They are meant to transform.

Civet paste in its pure state is, quite possibly, the most animalic material a perfumer can encounter. In its raw form it is intense, untamed, almost brutal: deeply fecal, with sharp ammoniac and urinous facets that demand respect. Working with it means confronting the most primal side of olfactory art.

But the magic happens in dilution.

In traces — when handled with precision — civet transforms completely: an unexpected sweetness emerges, almost creamy, with a clean musky nuance and a warmth reminiscent of the enveloping sweetness of ambergris. What was wild becomes radiant. What was harsh becomes magnetic.

Its fixing power is extraordinary.

Its ability to make other notes “lift” — florals, resins, leathers, oud — is simply masterful. It adds volume, flesh, vibration. It turns a flat composition into something alive.

Now available:

Pure civet paste (for experienced perfumers).

Tincture currently macerating — to be released in approximately six months, once the material has reached its optimal roundness and balance.
